The Fake Limits Theory

Limits are only crossed lines, you just need to know where to pass.

The asymptote
The asymptote: a bound that is drawn, not built

This one is for anyone who works remote, online, as a digital nomad, anyone trying to reach clients across borders, or reach new opportunities anywhere in the world. The rule is dead simple: no one is unreachable. The limits you feel are fake.

I came to this the hard way. Like I said before, I was a conservative person, and that made me private and closed off. I didn’t share much, I didn’t talk to many people, I didn’t push myself out into the world. So by default my network stayed small. And in the age of AI, even before it, in the age of new tech, a small network means you can’t reach much. One hand can’t clap, especially remotely.

The only thing that saved me was curiosity. Curiosity is probably the single trait that kept every project I tried alive. It’s what pushed me to open up.

That’s actually why I went into crypto early. I’d heard that in crypto nobody would know I was a refugee, nobody would judge me for it, they’d just give you a shot at the work. That mattered, because in Lebanon I was always treated as different. I got turned down for jobs, even restaurant jobs, because of my nationality. I lost scholarships at university for the same reason. So I always felt like an outsider, even inside an industry that’s full of outsiders.

But crypto taught me the thing I needed most: you can just ask. You can just talk to people. Every action you put out gets some reaction back, and the reaction carries some truth, and even when it’s not the thing you were looking for, it turns into something else useful.

Here’s the proof from my own life. I started as an intern at the company I’d later run. I got in by just chatting, talking about derivatives and options on Twitter, pushing on them through the company’s main account, again and again. That got me hired. That gave me the confidence to push more. I became lead researcher, kept pushing, and eventually took the whole thing over when the original founder left. Suddenly I had a company, in an industry I wasn’t an expert in, with raised capital, forced to learn fast. All of it came from one thing: I learned that reachability is something you can always try for. If you don’t try, you never know.

And online, no one is truly unreachable. People hide behind their profiles, sure, but they’re online for a reason. If someone is out there and exposed, it’s because they want to connect with people in their industry, or in parallel ones with some synergy. That’s the entire point of a social network. It’s a door to people, including big people, high achievers, the ones who can redirect how you work and think.

So pick whoever could shift your company or change your mind. Then stack up all the small pushes that raise the odds they’ll notice and respond. And if you’re a legit person, producing tasteful work, showing up with tasteful approaches, helping people, you can reach almost anyone, almost anytime.

Nothing is unreachable. As long as you’re alive, keep pushing.

“Don’t fight in the North or the South. Fight every battle, everywhere, always, in your mind. Everyone is your enemy, everyone is your friend. Every possible series of events is happening all at once. Live that way and nothing will surprise you. Everything that happens will be something that you’ve seen before.”Petyr Baelish
